Volumke 1:
This book is dedicated to the memory of all those medical doctors who, since history has been recorded, have contributed to the progress of the science and art of medicine. Medical Mavericks are practitioners who did not follow conventional paths. Instead they chose to go where there is no path and leave a trail. This is not an easy journey. Schopenhauers made the observation that new thought and new truth most often go through three stages. First they are ridiculed. Next they are violently opposed. Then, finally they are accepted as being self-evident. Medical Mavericks Volume One chronicles the tales of 18 different practitioners who were mavericks in their thinking.

Volume 2:
This book could just as accurately have been titled „One person can make a difference“ or „Burn him at the stake and use damp straw.“ Often reviled by their contemporaries but revered by subsequent generations, these medical mavericks blazed the trail of scientific progress. These tales of discovery, personal hardship, court intrigues and hardball professional rivalry make for fascinating reading. This is the perfect book for medical professionals, history buffs, and anyone who just wants to be entertained with incredible anecdotes about pioneers in the fields of medicine. Medical Mavericks will raise the eyebrows of most, make others chuckle and bring a sense of relief to contemporary mavericks, who can take comfort in the thought that at least they aren’t being burned at the stake.

Amazon Zitat:

„Book one in this series is a fascinating read. It reminds us how slow the medical profession is to accept new ideas, even when the evidence for them is overwhelming. There is so much more going on than unbiased and logical analysis of the evidence. The idea that the medical profession has no vested interests but the best patient care is not just called into question but proved to be not the case again and again over many hundreds of years by the information in this book. Many case studies and examples given are quite shocking – for example how long it took doctors to agree to wash their hands before delivering babies, and how the doctor that first identified this problem and pushed for handwashing was ridiculed and suffered a huge blow to his standing and career. New information in the medical field is rarely received well, as this book explains.Doctors unwillingness to admit they were wrong is a huge problem and this affects individual doctors as well as the profession as a whole. There is also the issue of financial liability for doctors and medical organisations as well. When does the medical profession ever admit it is wrong? They almost never do. Yet the medical profession has a high degree of public trust. We need to be aware that much of what is promoted as `absolute medical fact‘ today has already been utterly disproven. Yet it persists and will do for many years to come due to vested financial interests involved in medicine as well as how slow medicine is to accept new ideas. We should not assume that the mainsteam medical information we are given is based on logic. Often this is not the case.We should also not assume that following what is accepted as best practice in mainstream medicine will give us the best health outcomes. At best the information may be decades behind the latest research and especially when it comes to anything not closely aligned with drug company profits.

This book is about independent individuals who have followed the advice found in this anonymous quotation:

„Do not follow where,
The path may lead.
Go instead where
There is no path,
And leave a trail.“

It’s a madddening but enlightening read.

Dr Riordan was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin and the University of Wisconsin Medical School, and had practiced clinical medicine for nearly 50 years. He is also quite a medical trailblazer himself as the book `Pyramid on the Praerie‘ explains. He has done a great job with this book and I recommend it, along with the other two books in the series. The myth of the lack of bias in the medical profession has to die! There is bias, and it is large.Thank goodness for all those real medical pioneers out there.“

This book has changed my life but more importantly, it has changed the lives of some of the people I love the most as well. The secret ingredient is Vitamin C and plenty of it. I can only say get this book and read it and practice what it preaches. I was recently diagnosed with an infection in my lower intestine, and prescribed two heavy duty antibiotics, which made me severely ill. I was told by the clinic I went to that if I didn’t stay the course and continue taking the prescribed antibiotics that I would die. I was so sick from only two doses of the antibiotics (with twenty eight more doses to go) that I made the decision to stop. I had some old ascorbic acid in my kitchen and I mixed some up with baking soda and water and began taking it. Within three days I was as good as new. While researching Vitamin C on the net I found this book, ordered it, read it, and told others my story. My sister has also started on high doses of Vitamin C and other supplements recommended in this book and no longer takes two prescription pain medications she has been on for years and falls asleep now at night by eating a handful of cashews (another recommendation in the book). I can go on and on. Just do yourself a favor and get this book. You will save yourself tons of money over the years in doctor visits and prescription drug costs plus taking high doses of Vitamin C will improve your health now and could very much lesson your chance of getting any number of debilitating diseases including cancer in the future. One final thought….I am stunned by the number of friends I have that carry around a pill box and take any number of prescription drugs for every kind of ailment on the planet and then warn me about taking too much Vitamin C ‚because it’s not good for you‘. Have you ever read all the ’side effect‘ warnings on those prescription drug packages? All I can say is that the big pharmaceutical companies have done their job well with profits in the billions of dollars fueled by a compliant, ignorant public and most doctors today prescribing drugs at a record rate. After all there is no money to be made off of natural remedies like Vitamin C and a public who takes ownership of it’s health. ‚Doctor Yourself‘ says it all.

Healing the Gerson Way: Defeating Cancer and Other Chronic Diseases

Reviewed by Andrew W. Saul in J Orthomolecular Med, 2007. Vol 22, No 4, p 217-218.

If I were asked to choose the most valuable two pages of any medical book ever written, I would not hesitate to nominate pages 196-197 of Healing the Gerson Way. They present a very concise listing of the full Gerson nutritional therapy as an „Hourly Schedule for Typical Cancer Patients.“ These two pages deserve to be (and may already be) among the most photocopied-and-shared documents in alternative medicine. Authors Charlotte Gerson and Beata Bishop also provide additional, modified treatment schedule tables: one for patients who are severely weakened and/or on chemotherapy, and another for nonmalignant patients.

Any preconceptions that the seven-decades-old Gerson approach may be outmoded or inflexible will be put to rest in the second chapter. Long-time students of Gerson will appreciate new additions to the therapy, such as chromium, selenium, and pau d’arco. Chapters 5 and 6, supported by 175 references, discuss how chronic disease is primarily caused by what we do to ourselves. The remainder of the book tells you exactly what you can do about it, with sections on „Restoring the Body’s Defenses,“ „Why Does the Gerson Therapy Work,“ „Pain Control Without Drugs,“ and „Preparing Food and Juices – The Basic Rules.“

It would not be Gerson book without a chapter on coffee enemas. The coffee enema is probably the most controversial, most misunderstood, and, perhaps, most memorable Gerson technique of all. Its purposes are detoxification, liver cleansing, and pain relief. Chapters also explain recommended laboratory tests and discuss non-pharmaceutical medications. I was pleased to see chapters addressing psychological support, necessary household procedures and equipment, and potential „healing reactions,“ the Gerson version of the side-effect. A collection of frequently asked questions, and a broad sampling of case histories of recovered patients are also provided. Healing the Gerson Way is carefully supported with citations from the medical literature. Indexing is thorough, including both subject and author indexes.

For those who dread the thought of living on some kind of a health-nut vegetable juice diet, there is more good news. Chapter 28 is entirely made up of recipes, some 80 pages of them. They look good, too: dips, appetizers, sorbet, dressings, numerous soups and salads, grilled vegetables, ratatouille, and desserts. You do not have to be sick to want to eat Gerson-style.

For over thirty years I have recommended the Gerson therapy to persons fighting cancer, and have never once had cause to regret it. This new Gerson manual is the best ever written on the subject: comprehensive, up-to-date, exhaustively referenced, and very well-written. It explains the therapy as it instructs on exactly how to do it yourself. Most importantly, Healing the Gerson Way is about healing chronic diseases other than cancer, including many that are supposedly „hopeless.“ Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise: There is much more than hope for „terminal“ patients: there is Gerson. This is a compendium of knowledge, based on decades of success, that you will want to share with everyone you know.

Amazon:

„This book tells the fascinating story of the life of Dr. Max Gerson who developed a successful dietary-based therapy for the cure of degenerative diseases, particularly cancer. Written by Gerson’s grandson, it presents a personal yet objective portrait of a unique personality who has been called „one of the most eminent geniuses in the history of medicine“ by none other than Nobel Laureate Albert Schweitzer. And yet, due to the accidents of history and deliberate suppression of his work by the medical establishment, Gerson is today not well known outside the small but growing community of alternative medicine.
The book is very well written and tells an engaging story about a subject that could easily be deathly dull or sugared with personal family recollections. To the contrary, it is a crisp, fast-moving, narrative that slows down in only a few places where lengthy sources, including some of Gerson’s writings, are quoted.
The book covers two parallel stories: First, the life of Gerson, and second, the step-by step discovery of the pieces of the therapy that bear his name.
Gerson was born in Germany (now Poland) in 1881, the son of well-to-do Jewish parents. He was the product of the world-renowned German medical universities who began his practice as a neurologist. The book portrays a reserved, sometimes shy, proud man whose intolerance for foolish and petty behavior in others often earned him a reputation for arrogance and the enmity of many colleagues. Gerson is also portrayed as an absent-minded professor of medicine who leaves the details of finances and the care of the home to his wife. His complete energy and the focus of his life was directed toward the curing of his patients.
The most interesting part of the book is reading how Gerson discovered each aspect of his therapy over a period of thirty to forty years. The story begins with the curing of his own severe migraine headaches through diet modification. Over his working career Gerson modified and perfected his therapy to embrace a widening collection of chronic degenerative diseases. He seems to have been a master of observation, a keen analyst of the works of others, and a medical pragmatist and improviser. The bottom line was that he cured diseases in patients who had been given up by conventional medicine.
Gerson’s life was not easy, and his amazing accomplishments must be measured against the barriers erected in his path. First, his life and medical practice was totally disrupted by the anti-Semitic policies of the Nazi party. He and his family fled in turn Germany, Austria, and France before settling in New York in 1936. There, in spite of his remarkable successes, the US medical establishment closed nearly all doors for Gerson to promote his ideas, to practice, and to publish his findings. One gets the feeling that the story is much worse than presented in the book, and that there existed a well-organized conspiracy within the medical industry to suppress Gerson’s work. It seems that the author is holding back from making overt accusations that seem plain to the reader based on the facts presented.
By way of qualification, the reviewer is a cured cancer patient thanks to the Gerson therapy. So the book was especially relevant and exciting for me. But I believe that anyone interested in alternative medicine and healthy living will thoroughly enjoy this book. It adds to the growing body of literature describing Gerson’s therapy, most notably Gerson „50 Cases“ and Charlotte Gerson’s „The Gerson Therapy“. In summary, this book is good reading and the engaging history of a great man.“

Rüdiger Dahlke: Das Geheimnis der Lebensenergie

Rüdiger Dahlke: Das Geheimnis der Lebensenergie

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sFsH5cYHbEE

Doch so entstehen Krankheiten. Auch entstehen durch falsche Ernährung (z.B. Tiernahrung) Krankheiten.

The Gerson Therapy and how juicing plays a part in it
http://www.happyjuicer.com/juicing-information/gerson-therapy.aspx

„…The Gerson Therapy is a well known, natural therapy that has documented results on treating a wide range of chronic, degenerative diseases and other health conditions such as cancer, heart disease, arthritis and allergies. Juicing is a vital part and the main focus of the Gerson therapy where the patient consumes a large amount of freshly made, organic juice every day. In fact the patient will drink 13 fresh juices every day.Cancer rates in the western world have been steadily climbing as poisons are being used in more and more products that are used in the household, be it in food, cleaning agents, cosmetics, paints etc.The Gerson Therapy is based upon providing the body with the tools it needs to repair itself whilst enabling it to flush out all the toxins that have built up in the body. The tools that the body needs to repair itself are provided in the form of fresh, organic vegetable and fruit juices that flood the body with required nutrients, enzymes and minerals that enable the body to break down diseased tissue. The juicing component of the Gerson Therapy is complemented by the use of regular enemas that help the body to flush out the waste toxins that have accumulated after intaking them from pollutants in the air / our diet / the water we drink / smoking. These enemas help benefit the liver.Whilst it does not claim to cure every disease for every patient who undergoes it, the Gerson Therapy has a 60 year history of successful treatments and has been documented in over 200 titles of well known medical literature. Its creator, Dr Max Gerson was inducted into the Orthomolecular Medicine Hall of Fame in 2005. Orthomolecular medicine concentrates on getting the “correct” (ortho-) chemical molecules into the body, while eliminating toxic, harmful or otherwise unhelpful chemicals. More information can be found www.orthomed.org. Dr Gerson published many books on the subject including A Cancer Therapy: Results of 50 Cases which has sold more than 500,000 copies around the world and has been published in 5 different languages. One of the great benefits of the Gerson Therapy is that because it is uses entirely natural methods of treatment, there are no negative side effects that are associated with other forms of treatment for chronic diseases. The basic principles of the Gerson Therapy should not be taken to mean that anyone can start the Gerson Therapy without the proper knowledge. Gerson Institute recommend that patients start on the Gerson Therapy under the guidance of a Gerson Institute licensed treatment centre. The treatment centre will be able to explain the Gerson Therapy clearly and provide the patient with the information needed to be able to successfully continue with the Gerson Therapy at home without the aid of the treatment centre. The Gerson Therapy uses around 20 lbs of fresh organic vegetable and fruit a day for each patient. Most of these fruit and veg are juiced, indeed a juice is drunk each hour – totaling 13 juices a day. The patient will also consume raw and cooked foods as well as the fresh juices……………….“

The Top 15 Lies You’re Being Told About Health and Mainstream Medicine

http://preventdisease.com/news/14/073014_Top-15-Lies-Youre-Being-Told-About-Health-Nutrition-Medicine.shtml

„Do you ever question what doctors, nutritionists, institutions and even science tells you about your health, food, environment and lifestyle? You should, because we live in an era of deception and duplicity where the most trusted and valued sources of information are hijacked by much bigger interests than you can imagine. The internet is one of the last frontiers for truth, informing and educating billions on why our systems of health, agriculture, medicine and many other areas we depend on are failing us. The reason they’re failing us is because corrupt governments, corporations and the media are constantly feeding us lies on a daily basis, which through repetition, the public eventually accepts as truth. “

The 10 biggest health care lies in America

„Mainstream health care isn’t based on „health“ or „caring.“ It’s actually based on an ingrained system of medical mythology that’s practiced — and defended — by those who profit from the continuation of sickness and disease. This system of medical mythology might also simply be called „lies“, and today I’m sharing with NaturalNews readers the top ten lies that are still followed and promoted under mainstream health care in America today….When it comes to western health care, there are more than 10 lies, of course, but these big 10 lies are perhaps the most relevant to your own health decisions. By avoiding being suckered in by these lies, you can take charge of your own health and avoid the health care scam by staying healthy!Staying healthy isn’t as difficult as you think, and it doesn’t require health insurance or disease screening. It only requires making informed, intelligent decisions about what to eat, what to put on your skin and how to get more sunshine and physical exercise. Once you do these basic things, you’ll find that you are no longer held victim by a western medicine health care system based on lies and outdated medical mythology.
It’s time for a revolution in medicine… A revolution that finally advances past the mental roadblock of a system of medical mythology stuck in the 1940’s. Don’t get me wrong, 1940’s medicine was great in the 1940’s. But this is no longer the 1940’s, and the germ theory of disease is hopelessly outdated when it comes to the primary diseases that are striking the population today. Yet the profiteers of our dishonest, outmoded health care system are doing everything in their power to keep us all stranded in the past, a past based on treating the body like a chemical battleground and attacking every disease with a patented pharmaceutical. That whole approach to health care is so far outdated that it’s hilarious it can still be pushed with a straight face. No wonder doctors only spend an average of two minutes with patients these days. That’s the limit of how long they can hold their faces without breaking out in laughter at how stupid this whole „treat the symptoms and forget the causes“ approach to health care really is. Even they know it! That’s why most doctors actually eat superfoods and take vitamins themselves, even if they never dare suggest it to patients.True fact: It is illegal in every U.S. state for a doctor to recommend any vitamin, nutrient or food for the prevention or treatment of any disease. Doing so can cause a doctor to have his medical license permanently revoked. How crazy and outdated is that?……………“

„…. At best the information may be decades behind the latest research and especially when it comes to anything not closely aligned with drug company profits.“
